Privacy
This website doesn’t use cookies or tracking, and it never asks who you are. It keeps a simple count of visits, without knowing who anyone is. Here is exactly what happens when you visit.

Orleden is an independent software studio in the United Kingdom. We make apps including StableOpta and Hairline. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Orleden.
If you have any question about your information, write to us at hello@orleden.co.uk.
Very little. The website has no accounts for visitors and never asks who you are. It doesn’t set cookies or store anything else on your device, and it doesn’t use advertising or tracking of any kind.
It does keep a simple count of visits, which tells us how many people visit and which pages they read, but never who anyone is. That’s explained under “Visit counts”, below.
The things it collects about you are a message, if you write to us through its contact form, and your email address, if you join our mailing list (see “Mailing list”, below). That’s explained under “If you write to us”, below.
Like any website, ours is kept on a server, provided by our hosting company, IONOS. When your browser asks for a page, the server automatically records basic technical details:
These logs are kept by IONOS to keep the site secure and working. We don’t use them to identify you, and we don’t combine them with anything else.
To see how many people visit and what they find useful, the website keeps a simple count. When a page opens, it notes:
To count visitors rather than pages, a scrambled code is made from your connection with a random value that changes every day. Only that day’s codes are kept, and then they’re forgotten, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address isn’t stored, nothing is stored on your device, and none of this is shared with anyone. What remains is just totals, such as “40 visitors on Tuesday”.
If you ask to hear about new apps (on this website, or on one of our apps’ websites, such as StableOpta’s), we keep:
We email you first to confirm that it was you, and you join the list only when you press Confirm. If you don’t, your address is deleted after a week.
We use your address only to tell you about new Orleden apps and products, and only occasionally. We never sell or share it. Our emails are sent from our own website, through our hosting company, IONOS. If we ever use a mailing service to send them, it would act only on our instructions, and we’d update this page first.
Every email has a link to unsubscribe. Use it, or write to us, and your address is removed from the list straight away.
Everything on this website, including its typefaces and pictures, is served from our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your details to Google or any other company.
The stars, the Moon, the planets and the meteor showers behind the orrery are calculated by your own browser from the date and time. Nothing is looked up online, and we never ask for or use your location: the sky shown is always the sky over the UK.
When you send a message through the contact form, it reaches us as an email at hello@orleden.co.uk, with your name, your email address, the topic you chose and your message. It’s the same if you email us directly, including by choosing “Hear about it first”.
We use these only to reply to you or, if you’ve asked, to tell you when an app launches. We don’t add you to a mailing list or pass your details to anyone else.
To keep spam out, our server notes a scrambled code made from your connection’s IP address for one hour, to limit how many messages can be sent in a row. The code can’t be turned back into your address, and it isn’t used for anything else.
We keep emails only as long as we need them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Each of our apps explains its own privacy on its own website, for example Hairline’s privacy policy. This page covers only the Orleden website.
Under UK data protection law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Just email us at hello@orleden.co.uk.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
If the way this website works changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
